International Consumer Electronics Show 2010 is a few days away!!

This year I am going to attend the 2010 International CES show located in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Last year there weren’t a lot of robots offered and hopefully that will change this year.

The show uses all of the Convention Center and a few hotels (Hilton and Venetian).  They offer shuttle service and the Monorail stop is right in front of the Convention Center.

If you aren’t familiar with the show, it is broken up between different technologies.  The map they offer shows what exactly where each technology will be housed.  The technologies are:

  • Audio
  • Digital Imaging
  • Emerging Technology
  • Gaming
  • High-Performance Audio
  • Home Networking/Systems
  • Home Theatre/Video
  • In-Vehicle Technology
  • Wireless

CES

It lasts for 4 days (January 7-10th) which I hope that is enough time to go through most all of the vendors.  I plan on focusing on an area each day.  Every day, I will be sharing pictures/video with what vendors/manufactureres I saw with what they will be coming out.  Stay Tuned!!!

If you want to know more information about an exhibit, let me know what the manufacturer is and I will get that information for you.  Just click: http://myces.bdmetrics.com/BrowseSuppliers.aspx?r=t It will list all of the exhibitors attending this year.

  1. Hello. I have just woken up and am getting ready for the big day!! With all of the booths and information available, it’s somewhat overwhelming at first. Then you remember that the show is spanned over 4 days and you get a sigh of relief that you can more than likely cover what you want to see.

The first area I want to focus on is the robotics area which is in the North Hall. I am very eager to find out what cool new robotics are planning to hit the streets soon.

    Stay tuned. . .

  2. Well, the Convention Center is hustling and bustling of people hurrying up to get their spaces set up. It’s only 2 days away, and there were booths that were still vacant, or had very little set up. I’m sure they will get them done on-time.

The system to get your badge holder is a bit confusing. You can either be part of the Press, or Blogger of the CES show. I am a blogger. It says that you can pick up your badge holder at the Press, Blogger, or the Venetian room. I went to the Blogger room and got there early. There was a line outside at the Press room, but since I am a Blogger, I went there and waited. I was the only one. Thinking that I was being at the right place turned out to be the wrong place. I got there 1/2 hour early and waited patiently until 12PM. Once Noon hit, I went inside and gave the nice lady my packet of goodies. She said that I had to go to the Press area to pick up my badge holder. I told her and showed her that it shows we could pick them up here. She replied that “They Lied”. So, I go out the door and wait in the particularly long line waiting for my turn to pick up my badge holder and press bag.

I waited for about 10 more minutes in that line. Once I got inside, they had 2 areas divided up. I read both lines and I couldn’t make out where to go, so I stood in the longer line. A CES employee asked that if we already had our badge, we could go to the other line, which at that time no one was in line. So, I quickly jumped into the other line and proceeded to get my items needed for an eventful experience at the 2010 International CES Show!!

While I was in the Blogger room for the brief time, it was a nice place where the Bloggers could come rest, use the wireless internet, use the phone/fax services if needed.
