International CES Show Day # 3 (January 9, 2010)

Since we had already covered all of the booths that had to pertain to robotics, we wanted to attend “The Last Gadget Standing” show.  The show started at 10:30 in one of the meeting rooms.  I arrived at the show doors early. I wanted to make sure I had a good seat for the camera.  I wasn’t sure if they had a specific area for people who were taking video with a tripod.  I was free and clear to sit anywhere.  My instincts told me to sit in the front where I could see clearly, but I forgot I was taking video, so instead I sat towards the back in order to get a better view with the camera.

As of now, I am unable to upload the whole show to YouTube due to the 10 minute limitation.  I am currently applying for a Partner Account which will lift that limitation.  Hopefully this can be rectified very soon so I can get it uploaded for the people who do want to watch the whole show.

My tripod was sticking when I was panning the camera, despite the set screw was fully loosened.  I do apologize in advance for that.  The show is over an hour long.  Once the show was over we went around looking for other booths that we might have missed.  We pretty much knew that we covered it all, so we decided to call it an early day and head on out of there before the crowds started taking the shuttle bus for myself and the Monorail for Craig.  The last day I decided not to attend due to not seeing anything new.

Anyways, being my first year attending CES, I have to say I experienced quite a few emotions.  Excited, Cheerful, rushed, tired, sore, but overall very happy that I was able to attend the show.  I look forward to attending next year, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a larger Robotic Area in the Tech Zone next time.

  2. Nice job of reporting, Chris! I enjoyed reading your daily inputs, and while I can’t say “I wish I was there too”, I am glad you were, and were able to tell us what you saw and felt.
